WRECK - An Azle man was seriously injured early Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle wreck on Farm Road 730 south of Boyd near the Wise County line. Department of Public Safety Trooper Mitchell Collins said William Justus, 34, of Boyd was northbound on FM 730 around 2 a.m. when he drifted across the center line and struck a pickup driven by David Henry Rau, 48.

OFFICERS INJURED - Thursday was a day for freak accidents for Decatur police officers. Around 4 p.m., off-duty officer Michael Dobyns was injured when his tractor flipped over, pinning him under the steering wheel, according to Police Chief Rex Hoskins.

Education foundation recognizes lead gifts (Wise County Messenger)

The Decatur ISD Education Foundation kicked off its fifth annual fund drive with a luncheon for lead gift donations at the Decatur Civic Center on Thursday. Lead gifts are those of $1,000 or more which are donated at the beginning of the annual drive.
